I decided to join this SAL for the first time in several years. I'm going to stitching ornaments from the JCS Special Ornament Issues. For January, the chosen issue is for the year 2018 and I've chosen to stitch Santa's Hat and Boots on a scrap of 25-count Lugana, 1 over 1.
Welcome to the Jolliest blog on the block! Each month we have a different theme. You choose your OWN chart, fabric and threads. Share your progress as you go along and post your finished piece by the last day of the month. You can join at anytime throughout the year and choose which months you wish to stitch with us. Happy Xmas everyone!

Cheryl's Jolly Old St. Nicholas(es)
This month I added a Jolly St. Nick to my Christmas Sampler. The chart is from Cross Stitcher Magazine Nov 2017. I have been making good progress on the sampler and hope to finish stitching it by Christmas.
I thought it might be fun to have a little parade of Santas ... so here are a few more that I have stitched over the years:
This Santa was one of those little ornament kits stitched on 18 ct. aida. He is one of my favorites. I think he wants a hug!
This patriotic Santa was stitched on 14 ct plastic canvas. The ornament is super sturdy, which is good because Santa has to hold all of those buttons in his beard.
This little Santa ornament was stitched from a free chart I found on a Japanese website. The website is no longer there, but perhaps the chart is still floating around the web. I really enjoyed stitching and assembling this Santa - I am always happy to find a use for some of my little embellishments.
I hope you enjoyed seeing some of my little jolly fellows. Santa Claus will be here before you know it!

May's Rings
And I made it before the month ended!
Here is Dragonlet #5, sleepy wee fellow.
Sorry it's so blurry - it looked in focus when I snapped it. And here is the overall design.
I think I may get my tree shape after all. After I finish #6 and when I move the hoop I'll take another overall shot and see what's what.

Didn't Quite Make It
I had hoped to catch up with my 2015 Ornaments after I moved, but it's obvious I'm not going to make it.
Here's where I am with November's snowman
and December's Free Choice is nowhere in sight. I will be doing some stitching tonight and tomorrow so there is a remote possibility of a finish, but I'm doubtful. However, I will post, however much or little I get stitched.
Looking forward to starting fresh for the 2016 ornament choices.

Cheryl's Nov and Dec Ornaments
For my November ornament, I selected "Snow" by Valerie Danish. This pattern is featured in the 2015 Just
Cross Stitch Special Holiday Issue. I stitched the pattern on 14 ct
plastic canvas, and backed it with black felt. I actually started stitching this one in November, but got too busy with work. I finished it last week.
For my December ornament, I stitched "Quaker Flower" (freebie) by The Stitcherhood. I have yet to finish it into an ornament ... but the stitching is complete.
Merry Christmas!

Owl always Love the Sweater
The Christmas ornament stitching is on! The trails of DMC 699 and DMC 321 are my breadcrumbs scattered around the entire house. If you need to find me follow floss tails. lol This little sweet Owl is from Pinoy Stitch titled Hooties Ugly Christmas Sweaters .

Tiny Bit
I'm up to my ears in boxes and " what am I going to do with this?", but I did manage to sneak in a couple of very short stitching sessions. Here's what I got done.
I'm sticking to the same set of patterns 'cause it was just too tricky to go rooting for floss.

Just Under The Wire!
He's done in August, by the skin of my teeth!
September's chart was already picked, but I may change it to one in this series so I don't have to pull different floss or go hunting for more fabric.
Not sure how active I will be in September. No matter what, I have to be packed and out of here by the 30th and I still don't have a place. Have two apartments to look at on Wednesday, so please cross your fingers.

Getting Closer
This is where Santa is as of this morning.
He's coming along very nicely and hopefully will be done this week. This business of trying to find a place to live is cutting into my stitching time HUGELY.
Loving the variety of styles of Santa everyone is picking.

I've Sarted
Finally got a chance to start my Santa last night. Almost got the border finished before I headed to bed.
I'm really enjoying this.
Here Comes Santa Claus.
here comes Santa Claus right down Santa Claus Lane!
Midnight Santa designed by Patty Cox.
He's going to be a wonderful addition to our tree this year.
I had a remnant of 16 ct aida that makes this a 3" x 3 1/8" size.
