Serendipitous Jo's May and June Ornaments

Once again I am following the 12 Days of Christmas theme.  This year I am stitching the Stoney Creek 2019 Ornament series as my monthly project.  I have also started the large Bothy Threads' design but won't be completing one block of those per month!

As per previous years, I started the 12 Days on Boxing Day and stitched one day for the next 12 days.  Each month I will return to the relevant Day and finish it.

I completed the Five Gold Rings in May but felt it needed backstitch when I took the photos:

stitched on 32 count Lime Green evenweave

So I added that in June:

And then stitched the Sixth Day - a Goose A'Laying

Suzanne's June Ornaments

 Hi everyone!

I have more than one to share this month. I feel quite accomplished since I was in a stitching slump 😁

I've been working on Julia Lucas Designs in the Just Cross Stitch Magazines I have in my stash. First up, fits Theme Four: Houses.

This is from the JCS Christmas Ornament Issue 2001. These are all stitched on 18 count Aida with DMC threads. I substituted DMC for the specialty threads and used a Kreinik blending filament for the stars. Finished in a banner style flat ornament with green jute twine.

Theme Three this month was Free Choice and I have three finishes to show.
Another Julia Lucas Designs - Peace on Earth from JCS Christmas Ornament Issue 2004.

These are both Amy Bruecken Designs, Fa La La is from the JCS Preview Issue July/August 2013 and La La La is from the Christmas Ornament Issue from the same year. My La La La got a little bent in my finish box, I hope he pops up. I finished these with tiny green rick rack and little pom-poms I've had in my stash forever. Their noses are cute little orange beads. The pattern calls for specialty carrot nose buttons, but I thought these were a good substitution. Stitched on 14 count Sky Aida with DMC threads and substitutions for the specialty threads.

I hope everyone is enjoying their summer stitching. Take care!

DJ's May and June Ornaments

It's been a madhouse at DJ's Digs...I finished May's ornaments but didn't post because I was hoping to fully finish them before I posted.  Well....I finished one, but not the other...so I guess I'll just post one unfinished.  Maybe next month I'll get it fully finished.  Anyway...here are May and June ...

For 12 Days of Christmas I am working on 12 Dragonlets of Christmas by Dragon Dreams.   I finished 5 Golden Rings for May and 6 Geese-a-Laying for June.

For the JCS Ornaments May was from the 2014 issue, so I chose Strawberry and Pineapple Christmas Welcome by Olde Colonial Designs.  This is to be made into a strawberry, and I have the interfacing ironed on...but still need to stitch and stuff.  I'll make sure to post pictures when I finally get around to fully finishing it.

The JCS Ornament for June was a free choice so I chose 2013 Baby Cardinal by The Victoria Sampler.  I had hoped to finish it in a pocket watch frame, but it was too big...so a round ornament is how I finished it.

So I guess that's it for this month.  I hope everyone is doing well.  Happy Stitching!

Gwen: May ornaments

Last month I managed to finish three 12 Days of Christmas ornaments and one from Starry Night.  Then I almost forgot to post! Anyway here are my finishes for May.

 Hands on Design
12 Days
Erica Michaels
12 Berries of Christmas
and
Starry Night

It was nice to finally finish HOD 12 Days. I lost some of my momentum on this series with this one. Hope I can keep going and finish this series this year.
