Serendipitous Jo's April Ornament

This year I am stitching the ornaments from the older issues of Just Cross Stitch.  I chose my 12 and started them all for the 12 Days of Stitchmas 2018.

For April and May I chose two Dragon Dreams designs because I do love a little dragon.  I started them on Days 4 and 5 of Stitchmas.  Unfortunately when I picked up the charts to continue with the 2002 design for April, I started the 2001 design instead!

So, for April I will show the 2001 design - Not a Creature Was Stirring - and then for May I will stitch the 2002 design - Peace on Earth.  No-one will notice.

Here is Not a Creature from the 12 Days of Stitchmas:

stitched on 32 count green linen

And here is the finished design:

I used the recommended DMC but changed the red and blue to metallics for an extra Christmassy sparkle.  I also made those berries in Smyrna Stitches to make them a little bit more 3D and rounded.

Here is March's design finished as a Bell Pull:

November Dragonlet

I'm late with my November post, even though it was finished on time. So here is Dragonlet #11, piping bravely.

From Dragon Dreams 12 Dragonlets of 2012.

Leaping Lords!

Or in this case, dragonlets. Number 10 is done.

And here's what the whole project look like to date.

Not Quite Caught Up

Well, I had hoped to have August and September done by this month end, but haven't quite made it. August is finished

and September is about half stitched. Maybe if I hustle for the rest of the day?

And I did it! Dragon 9 got finished with about 5 1/2 hours to spare. Terrible fabric colour - the picture of #8 is much better.

Hopefully Dragon 10 won't be such a last minute stitch.

I'm W-A-Y Behind!

And doesn't that sound familiar? My last post was for June, so this will be a short catch up.

July is done

and August just needs the back stitching so I hope to post him soon and hopefully have September done by month end. Wish me luck!

June's Geese

Managed to get in some nice stitching time and Dragonlet #6 was done.

I have to figure out how to make the sparkle show up in the pictures. The fabric sparkles and so does the egg shell.

Here is the whole piece at the moment.

May's Rings

And I made it before the month ended!

Here is Dragonlet #5, sleepy wee fellow.

Sorry it's so blurry - it looked in focus when I snapped it. And here is the overall design.

I think I may get my tree shape after all. After I finish #6 and when I move the hoop I'll take another overall shot and see what's what.

April - I'm Late

I'm late, but I did get my 4th Day done.

And as you can see, a few stitches of 5th Day as well.

Here's how the whole project looks at the moment. The fabric colour in the pictures is terrible - it's really a lovely opalescent green.

The row I'm on will have 4, 5 and 6, then I'll drop down and put 7 - 10, then drop again and centre 11 and 12. Hopefully it will have something like a Christmas tree shape when I'm done.

I also want to say I'm sorry I seem to have disappeared from the blogging world, but I'm dealing with a number of health issues and my energy levels are very low. Hopefully I will be back soon.

Two Turtledoves

And February's Dragonlet is done. This is definitely a record for me.

Terrible picture of the fabric, but I do love the turtle doves.

January Ornament

I can't believe it - after a whole year of reading and commenting, I actually have an ornament stitched although not finish finished.

This is #1 of Dragon Dreams' "12 Dragonlets of 2012", stitched 2 over 2, 28 count, on Silkweaver's Reflections line, called Sparkling Forest. The colour is right in the photo, but it didn't pick up the gold sparkle that runs through it.

If it catches your eye, you can find the patterns on Jennifer's FB page, Dragon Dreams Inc. You'll have to hunt for them as she released them through 2012 and they have not been put in a file that I can see.

Also, she's just released a new design for the change of the Chinese New Year. Officially, monkey passing the torch to rooster; in the Dragon Dreams world, yeti passing the torch to phoenix.
