DJ's September post

Hi Everybody!   I'll be honest and say, I'm still trying to play catch up...and so far I've been able to stitch my ornaments in time, just haven't been able to fully finish them.  Fingers crossed, I'll have them finished for the next post.  (But don't hold your breath!  LOL)

I've been working with two themes this year, first was Theme One, the 12 Days of Christmas.  I've been stitching the 12 Dragonlets of 2012 so the September ornie was 9 Dragons Dancing.  Her little tutu makes me laugh...and here she is!

The second was Theme Three and the year chosen was 2016 so for this ornament I chose Snow Day by Squareology.  I have wanted to stitch this for ages, had the fabric for a long while, and finally decided this was the time.  Now I have to decide if I want to finish it as a round ornament as it's pictured, or as a biscornu as I've seen it finished before.  Decisions, decisions...anybody have a preference ?  Maybe I should take a poll? LOL

I don't know if I mentioned it here before, but we have been waiting expectantly for our grandchild to arrive since January (our kids told DH on his birthday)  She arrived a few weeks early two weeks ago.  She is the reason I've been so far behind...LOL!  Now that she has arrived and most of the stitching/crocheting I've been trying to get done is behind me, I will have more time to work on things I have been hoping to stitch...in between Gigi snuggles that is!  LOL  I hope everyone is safe and well.  Until next time...Happy Stitching!

Serendipitous Jo's August and September Ornament

Once again I am following the 12 Days of Christmas theme.  This year I am stitching the Stoney Creek 2019 Ornament series as my monthly project.  I have also started the large Bothy Threads' design but won't be completing one block of those per month!

As per previous years, I started the 12 Days on Boxing Day and stitched one day for the next 12 days.  Each month I will return to the relevant Day and finish it.

In August I stitched the Eighth Day - a Maid A'Milking:

stitched on 32 count Lime Green evenweave

This month I stitched the Ninth Day - a Lady Dancing:

I didn't backstitch around the white of her skirt as it looked more lacy without it.

I picked up my Bothy Thread 12 Days again in August and reached this point at the end of the month:

Aiming for a block finish in September!

Suzanne's September Ornaments

Hi everyone! I was able to complete a few ornaments for this month's themes. I'm still working on the Pinker n' Punkin Quilting Barnyard Christmas Series. Two of them fit Theme Four - Christmas Decorations.

Farm Truck

The Stockings Were Hung

These are so fun to stitch. I'm using 18 count Oatmeal Aida finished in a flat ornament with the red ticking ribbon and jute twine. I'm not sure how many I have left and I'll be sad when they are done.

I've also stitched three ornaments from the Just Cross Stitch 2016 magazines. These are all Amy Bruecken Designs.
Love Ewe in August 2016

Penguin Love in December 2016

Snowman Love in Christmas Ornament Issue 2016

These are all stitched on blue 14 count Aida with the DMC threads and finished with red and green rick rack. I made a couple of color mistakes but I didn't notice until they were practically ready for fully finishing. The recipients will never know 😊

I hope everyone is well and stitching what they love!
