Serendipitous Jo's June's Six Geese-a-Laying

This month's block is just the one Goose-a-laying which is quite a relief!  Six geese would be a lot to stitch.

I did my usual method of stitching the main part of the picture with two strands and then the background with just one.  So on here the green and blue is only one strand which gives it a more delicate look.  I started doing this on the Partridge block as it was so densely stitched.  Using one strand makes the main part stand out more.

Here is where I was last month:

Since then I have completed all the metallic around the border, started the left hand vines and added some more stitches to the left hand Herald Angel.  I do a little bit on her each month.

That's a great panel. Love how the whole piece is coming together.

I love how doing the background with only 1 thread looks! Gives it so much more depth. It is beautiful!

Great progress Jo :o) your idea of the one strand background is a really good one... it does make the main image a real focus point.
