It is that time again! Time to start thinking about our themes for next year, so if you have anything you are really keen to stitch, now is the time to suggest the theme.
I am thinking of running two alternate themes for next year.
I have been chatting to the lovely Jo, one of the stalwarts of this blog and my inspiration for starting it, with her Hallowe'en Ornie SAL. Anyway, we were having an email chat, as you do (since I live in Australia and she lives in England) and we were both saying how much we love stitching 1. Pieces with a theme and 2. The Twelve Days of Christmas. So, I said, how about we do that for a theme next year with an alternate set of themes for those of us who may not want to commit to a Twelve Days of Christmas stitch. And if you wish, you could dip in and out of either theme.
So, I am thinking we will have:
Theme One: THE TWELVE DAYS OF CHRISTMAS.....
Subsequent verses follow the same pattern, each adding one new gift and repeating all the earlier gifts, so that each verse is one line longer than its predecessor:
- 4 Calling Birds
- 5 Gold Rings
- 6 Geese a-Laying
- 7 Swans a-Swimming
- 8 Maids a-Milking
- 9 Ladies Dancing
- 10 Lords a-Leaping
- 11 Pipers Piping
- 12 Drummers Drumming
- There are so many different designs out there on this theme - I just did a quick Google search and look at all of these:
Theme Two will be a variety, just as we had this year (and there is no reason we cannot use some of the same ideas again). So, get your Santa hats on and start sending through some choices to me!
If we have more than twelve ideas for Theme 2, then I will set up a little poll.
HO! HO! HO!
hugs, Kaye
P.S. Just as a reminder here are the themes for the last two years:

I love the Tweleve Days of Christmas idea!! But I am almost finished of Plum Street's 12 Days freebie so I don't think I will stitch another 12 Days one right away :) But I am really looking forward to seeing everyone else's. As for themes for next year I am up for anything! Thanks for all you do for us here on this blog Kaye!
I love the 12 Days of Christmas idea. Hopefully I'll get my act together for 2017 and be a properly active member.
Ooooo.....12 days of Christmas speaks to me! Awesome idea!
I love the idea of 12 Days of Christmas for next year's themes!
How could you do that to me? Showing all those different 12 Days designs?
Theme-wise I have discovered that I like the geometric style ornaments more than any other when I go through my JCS issues. Christmas Tree would be my second choice. Carols or music would be a nice return too.
Tinsel and lights.
Snowy scenes.
Sleighs and reindeer.
Themes: snow, Santa, Trees, Xmas words...
Love the idea of 12 days of Xmas.
xx
The 12 Days - a great idea. There are definitely a lot of designs for this theme out there.
Other themes: birds, snowy village, owls (well, birds, lol), and as Jo suggested sleighs and reindeer.
Yes... just the kick up the behind that I need to stitch the Plum Street 12 Days of Christmas.... I would love to do the 12 Days as a theme for the year (I do have a few that I could chose from in my stash!)
But if not then.... how about.... snow, reindeers, Christmas trees, blingy ornies, cute Christmas animals, primitive Christmas designs, Santa, nativity
The list could go on!!
Hugs xx
The Three Kings?
I love Noni's idea of Blingy Ornies!
I'm probably going to stitch 12 Days as my theme but I was thinking of a suggestion for Themes 2....Christmas around the world? (I was thinking of different countries, regions, and even Christmas on the beach, etc.)
L'idée de participer me plairait bien,je m'associe a Brigitte pour le choix.
Toutefois je me demande si j'ai bien compris les rêgles de cette ronde.
Amicalement
