The Maids are Milking

I'm just squeaking in my last post of the year. I got bogged down on this one and couldn't seem to finish the stitching. I finally got it done and now have just 4 more to complete the set. Used the called for fibers and fabric but used Mill Hill beads (P 40553) for the berries.

Cheryl's Completed Christmas Sampler

I put the finishing touches on my Christmas Sampler on Christmas Eve!   The chart is from Cross Stitcher Magazine (Nov 2017), which was gifted to me last year at Christmas.  I started stitching the sampler in January of this year.

I stitched over all of the snowflakes and snowy areas with a strand of metallic silver thread.  It doesn't show in the photo, but has a nice sparkle to it.

I stitched the completed sampler onto red felt, added a couple of hanging loops, and did a blanket stitch around all of the edges.

Finally, I took a walk with my sweetie of 26 years around the neighborhood and down to the park to enjoy the holiday lights.  We found the perfect twig to use to hang the sampler.  So, it added a special touch to my Christmas this year and made for a happy memory to enjoy in the future.

I hope all of you made some happy memories this year, too!

Good King Wencelas's Yule Log...?

Hey!!

Happy December everyone!

I am back with my June ornament.  The song is Good King Wencelas and in the song there is some talk of pine logs and heat so I thought the yule log was fitting.  I am quite impressed with how the variegated thread ended up looking like two pieces of wood.  I would like to say I did that on purpose but that would be a lie.

Better picture this time around.  I did have to crop out the Lightening McQueen comforter my kids were using and I didn't notice when I was taking the picture but we managed.

I have my next ornament picked out and ready to go so be back soon!

Happy Stitching!

Suzanne's December Ornament

Hello! I can't believe Christmas is almost here. At least I have these ornaments finished. Thanks for letting me join in the fun this year and I can't wait to see what everyone has in store for 2019. Continuing with my theme, I am posting the Dragon Dreams Twelve Dragonlets of Christmas 12 Dragons Drumming.

There was also another version of this freebie where he's drumming a traditional drum set, but I liked the little kitty in this one.

And as a special surprise, the designer created a 13th Day of Christmas as to what might happen if you let a dragon around all those Days of Christmas gifts.

All the previous ornaments were 2012 freebies and this one was in Just Cross Stitch magazine the 2016 Christmas Ornament edition.

This is how I'm going to display them this year.

I hope everyone enjoys their holidays and I'll see you in 2019!
