December 2016

To all of you thank you very much for your kind comments! Well thank you!!!
Today I finished the job in December - Angels:

Each angel has a different skin color. I wish all people of the world, without distinction of skin color, peace, love, freedom and understanding!

Merry Christmas....

Wishing all of my very dear bloggy/crafty/cross stitchy friends the very Merriest of Christmases and a safe and Happy New Year.

I would also like to thank you all for your friendship, support, advice, encouragement and kindnesses to me over the past year.  This Christmas Ornie SAL blog,  has been so much fun and such a joy to see the wonderful Christmas stitching that everyone creates, and  gives me great pleasure to know that this blog has, just maybe, been of pleasure to you, too.

All the best for 2017 and I hope to see you all back on this SAL blog in January.

hugs,

O Holy Night....

My December choice for the Angels/Nativity theme was O Holy Night, this is from a JCS Ornie Mag (sorry, can't remember which one but I will check up on it and get back to you).

[Update: dear Lili (no blog) has just let me know that it is from JCS Christmas Ornie Mag 2013 - thanks Lili.]

It is stitched on 28ct Willow linen, I then made it up into a little felt bag, which I filled with Christmas goodies as my Christmas present for my best friend, Kim.

I just wanted to thank everyone for taking part in this SAL, I hope that you have had fun and I look forward to having more fun with you next year.

Wishing you and yours the Merriest of Christmas and a Happy New Year,

hugs, Kaye

Rita's December 2016 Angels

It's been crazy busy around here getting ready for Christmas to which you can probably all relate.  Last night I managed to finish stitching my December ornament for this group, Country Cottage Needleworks' "Angels".  I'd been looking at this design ever since it was released but this group's angel theme pushed me over the edge to buy and stitch it.

Merry Christmas, everyone!

My Family's 2016 Ornaments

I know, not this month's theme, but I wanted to share with you my family's 2016 ornaments.  (I either make or buy ornaments each year for all 4 of our kids and one for DH and I to share.  However many of us are together before Christmas have an "unveiling" before putting them on the tree the ornaments' first year.)  This year I chose Santas on sleds.  Both the designs and the sleds are by Foxwood Crossings and widely available in both online and brick and mortar needlework shops.

(I'm not sure why the pic is upside down.  It's rightside up on my computer.)
