Kaye's first day....
First of all I was going to do BOTH themes and for my 12 Days theme I was going to do Jim Shore's 12 Days of Christmas and then I was going to do a LHN Christmas Tree ornie, BUT....
I have NOT gone anywhere near a Christmas tree design however I did start the Jim Shore but now I am thinking that I want to change the border and I didn't get very far along with it, so neither of those plans worked AS somehow I ended up stitching The Frosted Pumpkin's 12 Days of Christmas and I am loving it!
I present to you, Day One... A partridge in a pear tree....

12 Days of Christmas - 1st Day
I have been wanting to stitch this design since the last of the blocks were released in December 2015 and this year's double theme was the perfect excuse for me to finally start stitching it!
But I just had to be very different... and I have gone for slightly different/non traditional colours than the recommended colours... as you will see from the pic below:
I am stitching this on 28ct Jobelan "Gold Digger" from Colour Cascade Fabrics and using threads from Jodyri Designs. The colours I am using are: Sense & Sensibility, Wuthering Heights, The Olde Curiosity Shoppe and Into Midnight (the border).
I am really loving how the First Day has turned out.... so onto the Second Day!
Til next month... happy Christmas stitching!

Faith's January Ornament
My name is Faith (Faithfully Stitching) and I am new to this blog! I am very excited to be here and glad that I will have an entire set of ornaments by the end of the year.
I decided to stitch up Margaret Sherry's Twelve Days of Christmas from the book "The Best of Margaret Sherry" and have just finished Day 1 for January.

January Ornament
I can't believe it - after a whole year of reading and commenting, I actually have an ornament stitched although not finish finished.
This is #1 of Dragon Dreams' "12 Dragonlets of 2012", stitched 2 over 2, 28 count, on Silkweaver's Reflections line, called Sparkling Forest. The colour is right in the photo, but it didn't pick up the gold sparkle that runs through it.
If it catches your eye, you can find the patterns on Jennifer's FB page, Dragon Dreams Inc. You'll have to hunt for them as she released them through 2012 and they have not been put in a file that I can see.
Also, she's just released a new design for the change of the Chinese New Year. Officially, monkey passing the torch to rooster; in the Dragon Dreams world, yeti passing the torch to phoenix.
A Prairie Schooler Partridge from Mary
Hello! This is my Very First Post with you all! And here is my Partridge in a Pear Tree from Prairie Schooler, found in 2005 Just Cross Stitch Christmas Ornaments. It is also my first Prairie Schooler design! I can see why everybody loves this designer-it is a very nice design I think. I used the recommended colors, stitching on 32 Lakeside Vintage Examplar 2 over 2. It's finished with some calico I had that was just perfect, and my 1st (successful) cord made with my new Kreinik cord maker I got for Christmas. (Does anyone else have one of these? Do you find the 3:1 ratio is accurate? I needed more like 4.5:1 to get the amount of cord I wanted.) However, I love being able to match trim so perfectly and make the cord so quickly and easily! I think I'll use it a lot.
Here's what I have coming up for February! Cottage Garden's Turtle Doves! I like how it is so frosty-wintry. I am doing it on 40 to keep it small as an ornament. Wish me luck!

January - 12 Days of Christmas by Margaret Sherry
I remember the first time that I saw this series. I was a bit depressed, and it really made me laugh. I couldn’t resist, and got it. My husband says that I have a strange sense of humor, but he liked them too.
Up first is Miss January, also known as Partridge In A Pear Tree. I think that she and her friends are adorable. Her daily progress was interesting.
Isn’t she a pretty, and colorful lady? I’m looking forward to stitching, and introducing Miss February.

Happy Stitching! East Coast Stitcher
Serendipitous Jo's January Partridge in a Pear Tree
I also stitched on it every day for the 12 Days of Christmas as part of a Challenge on the Stitch Maynia FB page. Since then I have been focused on finishing the Partridge for this month. I did have a little break to fit in my Hallowe'en stitching though.
Here is the Partridge in his Pear Tree, minus his beads which will be added at the end:

12 Days of Christmas
I realize that my first post wasn't in keeping with this SAL. It is actually part of a different SAL. I was so excited, and nervous learning how to post in a blog for the first time. I completely forgot that I couldn't use it for both. (hand slap to forehead!)
After a conversation with our sweetheart of an administrator, who helped me learn how to use a blog. It hit me why I had pulled out a 12 Days of Christmas chart that had made me laugh.
I thought that I'd stitch a Margaret Sherry design. Each stitched as an individual block.
Thank you Kaye for inviting me to join, and explaining how to do this. You really are a sweetheart.

Rita's Jan. 2017 Ornament
I was excited about this year's proposal to use the 12 Days of Christmas for a theme here. A while back I stitched PS 12 Days of Christmas all on one piece of fabric but thought it would be fun to stitch the individual "days" to use as ornaments. So...when we decided that 12 Days would be an available theme for this year, I jumped on it.
Without further ado, here's my Partridge:
Here's a picture of the whole thing stitched on one piece of fabric:

My 1st finish for 2017!
I'm working on my Hot Cocoa Snowmen Ornament Set by Joan Elliot. I finished the first 4 last year. Snowman #5 is done!

Satsuma Street: Partridge in a Pear Tree
I'm doing these as individual ornaments, and plan to vary the Aida used between white and the three DMC Brights fabrics (blue, green and yellow). Once they're done, I'm hoping to finish them banner style so they can hang from some evergreen garland over the holidays!
This first one started life in the car just before New Years weekend - we took a roadtrip out to Bethany Beach, DE to ring in 2017. It was finished while watching a last Christmas movie (It's a Wonderful Life) before letting the holiday season go.

Serendipitous Jo's December Ornie - Angel
Here are all nine on display:
I backed them all with the same holly print fabric and made low-sew cubes using my own technique. Each cube took about 2 hours to finish.
Having complete the series I needed a design for December. I had already decided to follow the 12 Days of Christmas themes for 2017 and had chosen a Joan Elliott design for this. As luck would have it, the design features two Herald Angels at the top. So I have completed one to fulfil the December 2016 theme.
